Director of Marketing

General responsibilities for all BOD

  1. To interpret the organization’s work and values to the community, and represent the organization ethically and professionally.
  2. To attend at least 8 out of 12 meetings (once every month) held in the next one year of the contract. These meeting dates will be mutually agreed in advance for six months at the respective first meeting of that term.
  3. To participate and attend special events organized by Nouveau iDEA.
  4. To commit to regular and prompt communication by phone, email and in face-to-face meetings.
  5. To act in the best interests of the organization, and excuse oneself from discussions and votes that may have a conflict of interest.
  6. To stay informed about what’s going on in Nouveau iDEA by asking questions and requesting information.
  7. To participate in and take responsibility for making decisions on issues, policies and other board as well as organizational matters.
  8. To work in good faith with staff and other board members towards achievement of our goals.

 

Director of Marketing

  1. Directs and oversees an organization’s marketing policies, objectives, and initiatives with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  2. Conducts market research and develops marketing plans for the organization and its events.
  3. Reviews changes to the marketplace and industry and adjusts marketing plan accordingly.
  4. Strategically outreach the beyond the Indian community, into Toronto’s rich multicultural tapestry of arts & entertainment.
  5. Assist in writing and reviewing grant applications and strategically support with raising funds for the organization.
  6. Leads and directs the work of others with the purpose of successful promotion of the organization.
  7. Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within not-for-profit organizations.
  8. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish organization goals.
  9. Assist board with administrative duties.
  10. Typically reports to all board members at the monthly meetings.
  11. Help to increase the members of the organization.
  12. All board members are expected to work as a team and merge responsibilities where required and support the mission and vision of the organization.
