88th International Annual Conference by Association for Business Communication Concludes in Denver, Attracting Global Industry Leaders

Denver, CO | December 2, 2023 – The 88th International Annual Conference, hosted by the Association for Business Communication (ABC), concluded on October 28 at the Grand Hyatt in Denver, Colorado, marking a resounding success. This prestigious event brought together industry leaders, scholars, and professionals in business communication from across the globe.

Renowned for its dedication to promoting innovation and knowledge-sharing in business communication,
the ABC Conference featured a dynamic line-up of workshops, seminars, panel discussions, and networking
opportunities. This year’s theme, “Reaching New Heights – The Future of Business Communication,”
resonated in a world increasingly reliant on technology for communication and collaboration.

The conference commenced with a remarkable Bonus AI and Business Communication Research Summit on
October 24. This day-long event delved into the evolving landscape of AI, captivating a diverse audience of
AI enthusiasts, tech professionals, and communication experts.

1. Diverse and Engaging Sessions: The 88th Annual Conference boasted an array of sessions covering
topics such as AI in business communication, virtual communication strategies, inclusive communication, and crisis communication. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from field experts and gain insights into the latest trends and best practices.

2. Global Industry Leaders: The event gathered influential figures in business communication,
including academicians, CEOs, CTOs, communication directors, and prominent scholars. Networking
opportunities enabled participants to exchange ideas and connect with leaders in their respective fields.

3. Interactive Workshops: Hands-on workshops provided attendees with practical skills and tools to
enhance their communication strategies. These interactive sessions allowed participants to put theory into practice and learn through experience.

4. Keynote Speakers: Distinguished keynote speakers delivered inspiring talks on the importance of
effective business communication in the digital age. The opening keynote speaker, Stacy Wilson, Founder and Owner of Eloquor Consulting, shared insights into the evolving business communication landscape. In the same track, N. Lamar Reinsch, Georgetown University, emphasized the importance of managers improving life for others.

6. Social Media and Visual Communication Track: A standout track at the conference was: “If you
do not establish your brand; someone else will define it.” The session was presented by Tushar Unadkat, Creative Director and Business Communications Specialist at MUKTA Advertising; this track focused on consulting and practice in social media and visual communication. Unadkat delivered a captivating presentation on how personal branding involves painting one’s reputation in an era of misinformation, disinformation, and long-lasting Google records, even if you are not a business owner. With the right strategy and consistent effort, anyone can build a reliable personal brand that helps them achieve their goals and stand out in a crowded marketplace.
